We're ending our Alpha Futures partnership. Here's exactly why.
Alpha Futures put out two announcements this week. Both matter if you trade with them, and both changed where I stand as someone who has sent traders their way.
What Alpha announced
Two things.
One. Alpha and NinjaTrader (Tradovate) are parting ways. Alpha launched their own platform, AlphaTrader, and NinjaTrader treated that as a competing product. After three months of talks they could not agree on terms. NinjaTrader terminated the contract effective 12 July. From that date, Alpha can no longer issue new accounts on the NinjaTrader platform. Alpha says this was NinjaTrader’s decision, not theirs.
Two. The Premium Plan is being shut down. Alpha says they paid out more than $25m on this plan in two months, at a significant loss. With NinjaTrader gone, and most Premium accounts sitting on Tradovate, they decided the plan could not continue. Every active Premium account will be refunded and closed. That includes pending and unpaid payouts on the plan. The refunds are automatic. You do not need to open a ticket.
Everything else stays open. Zero, Advanced, and Direct accounts keep running. Those are being moved off NinjaTrader/Tradovate and onto AlphaTrader this week.
The part that actually matters for you
Read that second point again. A plan people paid for, passed, and were owed money on is being closed and refunded instead of paid out.
Alpha is refunding, and that is the right thing to do. I will give them credit for it. But a refund is not a payout. If you passed and were waiting on money you earned, that payout is gone. You get your fee back. You do not get your profit.
The other issue is the platform. The tool you signed up to trade on is being pulled out from under you mid-account. The exact conflict NinjaTrader flagged, a firm steering its traders onto its own in-house platform, is now the reality for every account that remains.
Where I stand
The whole reason I do this is simple. I don’t send you somewhere I would not put my own capital and my own name. I promoted Alpha. That is mine to own, so I am owning it.
I am stopping my Alpha Futures partnership, effective today. I’m pulling my affiliate links. I will not be recommending them again until the picture is clear, stable, and proven over time.
This is not me piling on. Alpha has paid out real money for two years and they are refunding people right now. I respect that. But my job is not to defend a firm. My job is to protect the trust you hand me when I say “this one is worth your capital.” I cannot say that about Alpha right now with a straight face, so I am not going to say it at all.
If you have an account with them
Plain facts, straight from Alpha’s announcement.
If you are on the Premium Plan: your account will be refunded and closed automatically. Watch your email and your dashboard. You should not need to raise a ticket.
If you are on Zero, Advanced, or Direct: your account stays active but moves to AlphaTrader this week. Expect the migration and get familiar with the new platform before you trade real size on it.
Either way, screenshot everything now. Balances, payout history, open payout requests, closed trades. Keep your own record. That is basic hygiene any time a firm makes a move this big.
What’s next from me
I am not going to knee-jerk you into “here’s my new link, go here instead.” That would make me the exact thing I built this brand against. I will look at the alternatives properly, on their own merit, and tell you what I actually think. Including the parts that are inconvenient for me to say. When I have something honest to give you on where to go from here, you’ll get it here first.
I would rather lose the affiliate income than lose your trust. That trade has never been close.
